LEARNING OBJECTIVES

As a result of participating in this symposium, learners will be able to:

-- Apply new clinical trial data and treatment guidelines to acute ACS

management in the community-based ED

-- Adapt evidence-based approaches to acute ACS care to diverse patient

populations, including older individuals as well as patients with

renal dysfunction and other co-morbid conditions

-- Employ systematic approaches EDs can take to improve ACS outcomes

-- Integrate ACS treatment data into algorithms for hospital EDs with

various PCI capabilities and transfer policies

PROGRAM OVERVIEW

This symposium will provide an opportunity to review recent developments in the treatment of ACS in the ED setting through the lens of patient cases that the participants submit. Through a highly-interactive format, participants will work to apply new treatment guidelines and research evidence to diverse ACS patient populations and ED-practice settings.
