Date:5/21/2020

Exo (pronounced “Echo”) is pleased to announce the addition of Simon Prakash, who will serve as the company’s executive vice president of product engineering and report directly to CEO Sandeep Akkaraju. Simon joins at a time when Exo is disrupting the medical imaging space, bringing more than 24 years of technology leadership experience from Google, Apple, and most recently, AliveCor. Simon’s strong background in product development and innovation will be instrumental as he guides the development and engineering of imaging and data platforms at Exo.

“Simon’s work on products ranging from Google Glass, iPhone, iPad, and the KardiaMobile personal EKG has been instrumental in delivering life-changing devices to millions of people,” said Akkaraju. “At Exo, we are on a similar mission to deliver salient tools and digital experiences to healthcare providers on the frontlines. We welcome Simon on-board and look forward to his next big hit!”

With extensive knowledge in innovative consumer electronics, Simon most recently served as the Chief Technical Officer at AliveCor. While there, he led the development of multiple consumer-friendly, FDA-cleared electrocardiography (EKG) devices with numerous artificial intelligence (AI) algorithms focused on heart health. Simon previously held senior leadership positions at Google and Apple, where he led the design and development of Google Glass and was instrumental in the development of the first iPhone, iPad, and other leading Apple products, respectively.

“The pandemic facing our world today reinforces the pivotal role technology can play in ensuring that high-quality, affordable care is available to anyone, no matter their location. The future of healthcare will be shaped by innovative thinkers and transformational technology from companies like Exo,” said Prakash. “I share in Exo’s foundational belief that simplicity and innovation can streamline the delivery of patient care, and I’m excited to join a passionate team that is focused on creating new and innovative tools to achieve that mission.”
