Following a Good Start to the Year Shire Reaffirms Full Year 2008 Financial Guidance
Date:4/25/2008

008.

Cash, cash equivalents and restricted cash at March 31, 2008 totalled $825.1 million (December 31, 2007: $802.0 million). The increase of $23.1 million was less than the cash inflows from operating activities primarily due to the purchase of property, plant and equipment and payments to acquire shares by the Employee Share Ownership Trust ("ESOT"), partially offset by proceeds from the sale of non-core assets.

2. Product sales

For the three months to March 31, 2008 product sales increased by 37% to $631.7 million (2007: $461.5 million) and represented 90% of total revenues (2007: 87%).
