FireFly® Toothbrush Facebook Campaign Raises Funds for Smile Train
Date:4/12/2011

BUENA PARK, Calif., April 12, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Dr. Fresh®, Inc., maker of the popular FireFly® children's light-up timer toothbrush, has launched a Facebook fundraising initiative to raise awareness and funds for Smile Train, the world's largest cleft charity.  Beginning April 12, 2011, the company will donate $1 for every new "Like" on FireFly's Facebook page, up to $2500, to Smile Train.  The organization provides life-changing surgery for poor children in developing countries suffering from cleft lip and/or palates, a common birth defect, as well as specialized training for medical professionals to make surgery more accessible.

"Cleft surgery is a low cost, high impact intervention with dramatic, immediate and permanent results.  It is largely taken for granted in the U.S. and in Europe, but in developing countries, affected families cannot afford this simple procedure," says Puneet Nanda, founder and CEO of Dr. Fresh, Inc.  "The FireFly brand is proud to partner with an organization that The New York Times has called 'one of the most productive charities – dollar for deed – in the world.'  Smile Train puts smiles on the faces of children whose opportunities in life are impacted not only by their financial circumstances, but also by this heartbreaking condition."

The FireFly light-up timer toothbrush, which was recently awarded the ADA Seal of Acceptance, is designed to make tooth brushing fun and encourages healthy oral care habits in young children.  Dentists recommend it as a powerful ally in the war on early childhood cavities.  To "Like" FireFly and to join in the campaign to raise awareness and funds for Smile Train, consumers can go to
