HOPKINTON, Mass., Oct. 8 /PRNewswire/ -- Facet Solutions, Inc. today announced the successful completion of a scientific evaluation for a total joint reconstruction in the lumbar spine by Dr. Vijay Goel's laboratory at the University of Toledo. The study evaluated the combination of Facet Solutions' ACADIA(TM) Facet Replacement System (AFRS(TM)) with a semi-constrained disc replacement device and then, separately, with a polymeric disc replacement device in a finite element model. The results demonstrated restoration of the biomechanics of the native spine. Dr. Goel commented, "The FEA model demonstrates the ability of the ACADIA(TM) technology in combination with different disc replacement technologies to mimic the biomechanics of the intact spine."
