Both experts on peer influence and leading through influential dialogue, Floyd and Bresette presented the topic "Selling and Leading through Dialogue: Advanced Influencing Skill for Changing Times," and delivered a three-hour workshop entitled "Training that Fosters Learner-Led Learning" to many of the more than 600 attendees at the conference.

"We are pleased to have had the opportunity to address this timely topic at the SPBT conference," Floyd noted. "In these exciting and tumultuous times for the pharmaceutical industry, it is critical to design training tools and facilitate learning processes that foster learner-led learning and ultimately enhance sales-force impact." The specific topics addressed during the two sessions included the following: (1) methods for inviting dialogue and engagement, (2) applied principles of dialogue-based influence to leadership, training, and sales, and (3) effective sales-force training.

"We have found that true peer influence, in which there is interactive discussion among professional equals compared to didactic presentations, offers an improved way to sustainably influence prescribers," noted Bresette. "This conference was an excellent opportunity to share a unique peer influence model that is sparking tremendous interest among pharmaceutical marketers seeking higher ROI solutions for their brands."
