Eppendorf Explores Best Practices for Keeping Cell Culture Labs Contamination-free in Educational Webinar
Date:10/2/2018

Contamination is an everyday challenge in cell culture labs. Undetected or ignored, contamination endangers the reliability and reproducibility of experimental data. Each lab must consider whether ethanol and antibiotics the best measures to prevent microbial contamination.

In this educational webinar, which is sponsored by Eppendorf, attendees will learn how to recognize and identify different types of contaminants in cultivated cells. They will learn of the types and sources of contamination and get to know the most effective methods to detect mycoplasma and to fight against the common types of contaminants.

Through this discussion, participants of this webinar will gain knowledge on how to apply aseptic techniques and preventive hygiene and give practical tips for preventing contamination by incorporating standard procedures into your daily culture practice.

The speaker for this event will be Dr. Jessica Wagener, one of the most experienced application specialists focusing on cell handling at Eppendorf AG.

After studying biology at the Universities of Marburg and Düsseldorf, Wagener investigated apoptosis mechanisms in different cell lines for her diploma thesis. Following one year as research associate working with primary cells, she started to work towards her doctorate, focusing on reproductive biology at the Medical School Essen. She joined Eppendorf in April 2012 shortly after completing her doctorate in biology.

LabRoots will host the webinar on October 9, 2018, beginning at 6:30 a.m. PDT, 3:30 p.m. CEST. To learn more about this event, discover the complimentary continuing education credits offered, or to register for free, click here.
