SOUTHAMPTON, Pa., Sept. 23 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Environmental Tectonics Corporation's (Amex: ETC) ("ETC" or the "Company") BioMedical Division today announced the sale and placement of two BARA-MED(R) XD Monoplace Hyperbaric Chambers at Christus Spohn, Shoreline Facility. The Shoreline Facility was established in Corpus Christi, Texas, in 1905 and is the largest and foremost acute care medical center in the region. The facility offers South Texans a full range of diagnostic and surgical services.
ETC's BARA-MED(R) and BARA-MED(R) XD are the only computerized monoplace hyperbaric chambers manufactured in the United States. The Christus Spohn Shoreline facility will be among the first facilities in Texas to incorporate ETC's chambers in their HBOT (Hyperbaric Oxygen Therapy) program.
ETC manufactures the industry's most technically advanced hyperbaric chamber. The BARA-MED(R) XD includes a 4th generation Windows based operating system which controls and records chamber activity. ETC chambers continue to remain the leader in providing a patient friendly pressurization alternative (Smooth Ride(TM)) that minimizes complications due to middle ear and sinus barotraumas without increasing compression time.
Gene Davis, President of ETC's BioMedical Division, commented, "I am delighted to be working and associated with the Christus Spohn network of hospitals."
ETC's monoplace chambers are equipped to meet the demands of EMR (Electronic Medical Records), a factor which has generated heightened placements from hospitals and wound care clinics. ETC's BioMedical Division's goal is to offer the most well-designed and scientifically advanced monoplace products in a competitive market.
ETC designs, develops, installs and maintains aircrew training systems (aeromedical, tactical combat and general), disaster management training systems and services, entertainment products, sterilizers (steam and gas), environmental testing products, hyperbaric chambers and related products for domestic and international customers.
