Emerson Resources Announces CEO Retirement and Appointment of Successor

Emerson Resources Inc., a premier pharmaceutical development company, today announced that Dr. Charles Signorino, the Company’s Chief Executive Officer and Chairman of the Board, retired on April 1, 2013 after 32 years of service. As part of Emerson Resources’ planned leadership succession process, Adolfo Gomez, Emerson’s current President, has been named as Dr. Signorino’s successor.

Dr. Signorino is a recognized luminary in the pharmaceutical industry, having made a significant contribution to the field during his extensive career. He is an established expert in many aspects of tablet coating and holds 17 U.S. patents related to the area. Additionally, he is named in Who’s Who of American Scientists, has been published in numerous technical journals over the past three decades, and is a member of key industry organizations.

He joined Emerson Resources in 1981 as President and Chairman of the Board, following 20 years of service at Colorcon Inc. as Vice President and member of the Board of Directors. Dr. Signorino was elected CEO of Emerson Resources in 2002, based on his visionary leadership and notable expertise in Emerson’s core areas of focus. During his tenure at Emerson Resources, Dr. Signorino also formed CS Associates, a contract lab for coating services, in 1987.

Adolfo Gomez, a Principal of the Company with more than 20 years of industry experience, joined Emerson Resources in 2001. In his role as President, he has been responsible for managing every aspect of the business, with a specific focus on Business Development and Strategy. Mr. Gomez is credited for his instrumental role in diversifying Emerson Resources’ business model to include partnerships with industry leading organizations, as well as working very closely with Emerson’s management team to ensure adherence to the company’s core values.

In his new role as CEO, Mr. Gomez will continue implement a strategic plan that centers on three key areas of focus for the Company. These areas include:

  •     Ensuring the Company remains focused on helping clients with their drug development strategies that will allow them to bring their molecules to market as quickly and efficiently as possible.
  •     Maintaining the dynamic culture of creativity and ownership that differentiates Emerson Resources from the competition.
  •     Staying on the forefront of cutting edge technologies that allow the Company to maintain its reputation as an excellent problem solver, with pragmatic yet creative solutions.
