Date:7/15/2013

MOSCOW, July 15, 2013 /PRNewswire/ --

25 ROSATOM affiliated research institutes benefit from access to ScienceDirect and Scopus to support safe nuclear energy research

Elsevier, a world-leading provider of scientific, technical and medical information products and services, today announced it has extended its collaboration with Russia's State Atomic Energy Corporation (ROSATOM) by providing 25 research institutes with access to ScienceDirect and Scopus as part of its Knowledge Management Program.

Launched in 2011, ROSATOM's Knowledge Management Program offers its researchers an infrastructure to access and preserve international scientific information, supporting its development in fundamental and applied research in nuclear and radiation safety, nuclear medicine, composite materials and new energy sources. Providing access to ScienceDirect, Elsevier's full-text platform for research literature, and Scopus, the largest abstract and citation database of peer-reviewed literature, expands the ROSATOM program and will help the 25 affiliated research institutes to further develop their position in nuclear energy research.

Dr. Nikolay Kondratyev, CEO of ROSATOM's managing company CJSC Science and Innovations, said, "We recognize that it is impossible to be a leader in research and stimulate innovation without access to high-quality scientific information. We are pleased to continue our cooperation with Elsevier and are confident that including Elsevier's tools and resources in the program will help us to deliver scientific breakthroughs."

Igor Osipov, PhD, Regional Director at Elsevier for Russia and Belarus, added, "ROSATOM 's Knowledge Managem
