Date:9/6/2007

ll also have on display its premier image guided stereotactic treatment management system, Elekta Axesse(TM), which combines integrated 3D X-ray Volume Imaging with high-resolution radiation delivery and robotic 6D patient positioning, and the new Leksell Gamma Knife(R) Perfexion(TM), the revolutionary advancement in stereotactic radiosurgery that extends treatment reach and offers workflow benefits. Workflow technology such as MOSAIQ(TM) and SYNERGISTIQ(TM) developed by IMPAC Medical Systems, an Elekta company, will also be featured in the booth, along with an array of patient positioning and immobilization systems such as HeadFIX(R), BodyFIX(R), and HexaPOD(TM).

An announcement on new offerings by Elekta in Volumetric Intensity Modulated Arc Therapy (VMAT)* technique, which moves both collimator leaves and gantry during radiotherapy, will compare Elekta's VMAT solutions to other forms of radiation therapy. Performing VMAT together with Elekta's proven X- ray Volume Imaging can help clinicians reduce treatment time, and the technique also enables helical-like conformality. Olof Sanden, Executive Vice President Region Europe at Elekta says, "Elekta is moving forward together by fully integrating and incorporating our total portfolio within one sales offering. We are moving forward in a clinical and technical direction with 4D IGRT, IGTM, VMAT, Image Guided Stereotactic Solutions, and in a customer- oriented direction by optimizing clinical workflow solutions based on listening to user needs."
