Leader in Digital Radiography, PACS and Practice Management Software Adds

Philips Ultrasound with Acquisition

SANTA CLARA, Calif., May 19 /PRNewswire/ -- Eklin Medical Systems, a leading developer of digital radiography (DR), PACS (Picture Archiving and Communications System) and practice management software (VIA(TM)) for veterinary care practices, announced it has completed its acquisition of Ultrasource, the U.S. veterinary distributor for Philips Medical Systems' ultrasound product line. The acquisition adds an additional medical imaging modality to company's Eklin Digital Practice(R) family and fulfills rapidly growing customer demand for ultrasound solutions from Eklin.

"We wanted an ultrasound partner that shared our open workflow standards philosophy in order to provide our clients with ultrasound solutions that best fit their practice. Ultrasource and the Philips product line both embrace the same open DICOM standard protocols while providing outstanding customer service."

Ultrasource offers Philips, Sonoscape and SIUI ultrasound systems for small animal, equine, exotic and zoo animals. Applications include cardiology, internal medicine, reproduction, musculoskeletal and other soft tissue anatomy. Sophisticated color and pulse wave Doppler settings also monitor blood flow velocity and volume.
