Ein Bluttest sagt voraus, ob Krebspatienten auf Therapie ansprechen

Das Karolinska Institutet und das Universitätskrankenhaus haben gezeigt, dass ein einfacher Bluttest voraussagen kann, ob Brustkrebspatientinnen auf eine Therapie ansprechen werden, wie lange die Behandlung effektiv sein wird und wie die Überlebenschancen stehen. Die Ergebnisse werden auf der wissenschaftlichen Konferenz IMPAKT präsentiert, die vom 2. bis zum 4. Mai in Brüssel stattfindet. Die Analyse misst die Wachstumsrate und es ist das erste Mal, dass ein einziger Test dies durch eine Blutprobenanalyse dokumentiert.

An der Studie (TEX genannt) sind 287 Frauen mit Brustkrebs beteiligt, die mit zwei verschiedenen Arten von Chemotherapie behandelt wurden. Der Test DiviTum™ analysiert die Zellteilungsrate im Blut der Patientinnen vor dem Behandlungsbeginn. Ungeachtet der Therapie sagte DiviTum™ vorher, welche Patientinnengruppen auf die Behandlung ansprechen würden. Patientinnen mit Tumoren, die einen geringen DiviTum™-Wert aufwiesen, überlebten deutlich länger, nämlich 38 Monate, als diejenigen mit hohen Werten, die nur 21 Monate überlebten.
