Date:7/17/2014

Wilmington, DE (PRWEB) July 17, 2014

DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products Company LLC is excited to announce that it has appointed Lipscomb Chemical Company as one of its distributors of Zemea® USP propanediol in the food and beverage markets. The distribution agreement covers Mexico and the following USA western states: Arizona, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Idaho, Montana, New Mexico, Nevada, North Dakota, Oklahoma, Oregon, South Dakota, Texas, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Lipscomb Chemical has been distributing the company’s Zemea® propanediol in the cosmetics and personal care market since 2006.

Zemea® USP propanediol is a natural, 100 percent biobased solvent and humectant made from fermentation of glucose from corn starch. It is an environmentally sustainable alternative to petroleum-based glycols and glycerin, where the product’s unique solubility, improved taste properties, preservative effects and humectancy offers benefits in food, beverage and flavor applications.

“Lipscomb has done an excellent job for us in the cosmetics and personal care market, and we are confident they will be equally successful championing the benefits of Zemea® USP to formulators in the food and beverage markets,” said Carole Feole, sales executive, DuPont Tate & Lyle Bio Products.

“Zemea® has proven to be among our most successful ingredients, providing both functionality and differentiation to our customers' products and brands. We hold our partnership with DuPont Tate and Lyle in high regard, as they have demonstrated exemplary development and support in promotion of Zemea® technologies. We anticipate continued success with the introduction of Zemea® USP in the food and nutraceutical markets,” said Heather Naef-Owen, sales director-Food/Pharma/Cosmetics, Americas, Omya Inc.

Lipscomb Chemical, owned by Omya Inc., is a leading supplier of specialty raw materials and functional ingredients headquartered in Long Beach, Calif.
