DuPont Leader: Global Demand for Renewable Innovations Growing
Date:6/28/2010

target="_blank" title="DuPont™ Sorona®">DuPont™ Sorona® polymer and has grown into nearly a dozen renewable product families that contain a minimum of 20 percent renewable content by weight and serve both the consumer and industrial markets.

DuPont BioFuels provides advantaged products for the biofuels industry. The three-part strategy is to deliver new technologies to the growing biofuels market enabling biofuels to become a competitive alternative to petroleum. The strategy includes: (1) improving existing ethanol production through differentiated products including advantaged agriculture seed products, crop protection chemicals and DuPont™ FermaSure® anti-bacterial control additives; (2) developing and supplying new technologies to allow the cost-efficient conversion of cellulose to biofuels; and (3) developing and supplying advanced biofuels with improved performance. Two joint ventures will be technology providers and global producers of advanced and non-food biofuels. They are DuPont Danisco Cellulosic Ethanol (DDCE) for cellulosic ethanol and Butamax™ Advanced Biofuels for biobutanol.

“Our industrial biotechnology offering today is designed to deliver game-changing products to large, addressable markets that demand change,” Binetti said. “From biomaterials to nutraceuticals to medical devices and transport fuels, our portfolio is diversified and tailored to transform the markets we serve.”
