Acquisition will Enhance Precision Farming Technology Available to Industry and Pioneer Customers

Des Moines, Iowa, and Cumming, Ga. (Vocus) December 29, 2008 -- DuPont business Pioneer Hi-Bred and MapShots today announced Pioneer will acquire controlling ownership of MapShots Inc., a privately owned agricultural data management company that develops and sells proprietary crop management software. The financial terms were not disclosed.

"MapShots enhances the services available from Pioneer that help customers get the right product on the right acre and maximize their profitability," said Sue Hoover, marketing director, Pioneer North America. "Today's announcement demonstrates our continuing commitment to provide Pioneer customers with exceptional service."

Pioneer has had a long-standing business relationship with MapShots. This new relationship will allow Pioneer to extend its Pioneer FIT® mapping service and information available through GrowingPoint® website record-keeping service. "MapShots will continue to sell, support and enhance our EASi Suite™ line of desktop software for growers and professional service providers," said Ted Macy, MapShots owner and founder. "MapShots will also continue to license core precision ag components to other companies for inclusion in their products and services."
