As the new Director of Research and Technology, Dr. Corriveau will be responsible for the scientific activities of Department of the Army civilian employees and on-site contractor personnel who are part of ECBC's Research and Technology Directorate. The directorate, one of three within ECBC, supports the Department of Defense, as well as other government agencies by providing innovative science and technology solutions for chemical and biological defense.

Dr. Corriveau joined ECBC in June 2003 as the Deputy Director for Research and Technology after serving in the Office of the Under Secretary of Defense for Acquisition, Technology & Logistics as the chief scientist for the Chemical Biological Defense Program. Earlier in his career, Dr. Corriveau served as a senior analyst with the Army's National Ground Intelligence Center. He is viewed as the Department of Defense's expert in emerging threats.

Dr. Corriveau holds two degrees from Brown University: a Doctorate in Biology with an emphasis in cell and molecular biology, and a Master of Science in Biology with an emphasis in biochemistry. He also holds a Master of Science in Plant Pathology from the University of Delaware, and a Bachelor of Arts in Biology from Saint Anselm College.

An appointment ceremony will be held in January. A photo of Dr. Corriveau is available at
