Dr. Bob Harman of VetStem Biopharma to Speak on the Business of Stem Cells at the Wild West Veterinary Conference
Date:9/26/2017

Dr. Bob Harman, founder and CEO of VetStem Biopharma, Inc., will be speaking at this year’s Wild West Veterinary Conference in Reno, Nevada. Dr. Harman will be speaking on Friday, October 13th from 10:00 am to 11:30 am. His talk, “Stem Cells: Business Sense Today and Tomorrow” is sponsored by The Veterinary Cooperative. Dr. Harman is a frequent speaker on the topic of regenerative medicine at conferences around the country.

Dr. Harman has been a leader in the field of regenerative medicine for over a decade, he has presented on the topic at both human and animal conferences. He applies his biotechnology and veterinary experience in the clinical application of stem cell therapy for various types of injuries, illnesses, and other healing-promoting applications. Dr. Harman has also authored 13 peer-reviewed articles and book chapters.

In his talk, Dr. Harman will discuss the term “regenerative medicine” and the various applications that encompass this field of veterinary medicine. This will include a discussion of stem cell sources, and their commonality of use. His talk will focus on the practical aspects of harnessing the medical power of regenerative medicine and the incorporation of this modality into daily practice. He will analyze the current mega-trends in the veterinary profession that are driving the adoption of advanced cell therapies like stem cell therapy. These mega-trends include owners’ concerns about long-term use of prescription medications for their pets, the increase in the number of pet owners without children at home, and the expansion of the pet insurance market.

VetStem has been providing commercial adipose-derived stem cell therapy services to veterinarians for over 13 years with over 13,000 animals treated. They pioneered the use of regenerative stem cells in veterinary medicine and continue to advance the technology. The primary uses for stem cell therapy include osteoarthritis, tendon and ligament injuries, fractures, and muscle injury in the horse, dog and cat, but new research is leading to application in many internal medicine areas such as dry eye and gingival stomatitis.

VetStem Biopharma will be exhibiting at the Wild West Veterinary Conference exhibit hall from Thursday, October 12th through Saturday October 14th. Visit us at booth #300 for more information on stem cell therapy and other services.
