Disruptive Innovation Hits Clinical Trials, Dedicated Event Launches

New York (PRWEB) May 22, 2013

The Conference Forum announced the launch of the 3rd Annual Disruptive Innovations to Advance Clinical Trials conference taking place on September 19-20 at the Fairmont Copley Plaza Hotel in Boston, MA.

Disruptive thinkers from Novartis, Pfizer, Eli Lilly, Shire, Medimmune, Genzyme, Janssen Pharmaceuticals and more share bold approaches to reduce expensive infrastructure, engage patients and generate credible clinical data.

“Disruptive innovation needs to be big, or novel, or it must change the very nature of how we do clinical development,” explains Dr Andreas Koester, VP, Clinical Trial Innovation & External Alliances, Janssen Pharmaceutical, one of the event’s co-chairs.

New sessions for the 2013 event include:
*How Not to Do a Traditional Clinical Trial
*Alternative Clinical Settings: The Walgreens-Novartis Collaboration
*Keynote Fireside Chat with Google Ventures on Disruption in Drug development, New Approaches with Mobile Technologies and the Big Data Revolution
*An Interview Series with Disruptive Thinkers from Medimmune, VA Boston Healthcare and the Center for Connected Health

“We are particularly excited to welcome Zen Chu, Faculty Director and Entrepreneur-In-Residence from MIT to present the results of a hackathon on the topic of clinical trials, and Dr John J. Whyte, Chief Medical Expert & VP, Health and Medical Education at Discovery Channel for the interview series,” explains Valerie Bowling, Event Director.

The event expects to attract over 300 disruptive thinkers from pharmaceutical, biotech and technology companies seeking disruptive ideas to change the pace of clinical trials.
