Conversant Bio Launches NEW eCommerce Site

CHICAGO, July 14, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- Conversant Bio, a worldwide leader in supplying the highest quality human tissue and viable cell samples, today announced the launch of its new eCommerce site, conversantbio.com.  In an effort to make its site more user friendly, Conversant Bio teamed up with Lyons Consulting Group (lyonscg), the premier eCommerce design, development and support firm, to create a site with clean design and easy navigation while still housing an extraordinary amount of SKUs.

"Because we have so many different items and product lines, the best route to develop a reliable catalog system was not obvious," said Luke Doiron, Managing Partner and Co-Founder of Conversant Bio. Conversantbio.com is now designed to provide an easy, intuitive way for Conversant Bio customers, primarily researchers and scientists, to purchase products from the company's expansive product line. In order to properly catalog Conversant Bio's massive number of products, lyonscg developed a creative solution using custom options within Magneto to keep the number of actual SKUs down but allow for many different end products. lyonscg also established a SKU logic system, a hierarchy system designed to index each sample by tissue, by disease, by cell type, etc. This system was not only used on the site, but was adapted by the entire business. Additionally, lyonscg decided to color code each of the product images so customers could easily identify the base material when browsing the site.
