Conflict of Interest Disclosures Tool Updated

JERICHO, N.Y., May 11, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- HCCS (Health Care Compliance Strategies, Inc.), the leading provider of online healthcare compliance and competency training and tracking solutions, today announced the release of an enhanced version of COI-SMART, a web-based system for the management and real-time tracking of Conflict of Interest disclosures. HCCS built this comprehensive tool in response to tighter government regulations and increased scrutiny.

"COI-SMART has a tremendous impact on the conflicts of interest disclosure management process for our clients," says Ben Diamond, President of HCCS. "It was important for us to take the system to the next level with this series of enhancements. We're already receiving great positive feedback. These enhancements make the system an invaluable tool for our clients."

COI-SMART facilitates the review process through automation, providing healthcare organizations with improved control, reduced risk and increased transparency at a lower total cost than their current COI disclosure and review process. COI-SMART provides organizations with the tools for automated assignment of reviewers, the development of conflict of interest management plans, and data mining tools for auditing, tracking and reporting on potential conflicts of interest.

Enhancements to the COI-SMART system include a streamlined process for creating and assigning questionnaires, improved reviewer assignments process, enhanced user interface and increased application performance and responsiveness.

The COI-SMART system expands HCCS' product line of online multimedia courseware and Learning Management Systems designed for healthcare organizations.
