Complete Guide to LIMS and Laboratory Informatics, 2014 Edition, Released
Date:8/5/2014

ATLANTA, Aug. 5, 2014 /PRNewswire-iReach/ -- The Laboratory Informatics Institute announces the latest release of its popular free online resource for the laboratory industry, the "Complete Guide to LIMS and Laboratory Informatics, 2014 Edition".

This guide contains much more information than ever before. From the original release in 2011 of 50 pages, the guide (formerly referred to as the "LIMS Book and Buyers Guide") has grown to over 300 pages of factual information about industry trends and topics, various laboratory data management systems/applications, their vendors and more, with pricing and other details.

It has expanded to include information for all types of labs, notably adding the healthcare arena to its exhaustive content. Applications examined include Laboratory Information Management Systems (LIMS), Laboratory Information Systems (LIS), Electronic Laboratory Notebooks (ELNs), Clinical Data Management Systems (CDMS) and Scientific Data Management Systems (SDMS).

A new section has also been added, dedicated solely to Standards and Compliance issues. Topics include 21 CFR part 11, ISO 9000, ISO/IEC 17025, GALP, GAMP, HIPAA, ASCLD and more.

Yet another new feature of the guide is the introduction of a section containing laboratory informatics community discussions and Q & A, compiled from LIMSwiki.org and LIMSforum and other forum posts.

Along with these new features and content, the guide still contains plenty of information like price/feature comparisons, links to online resouces like videos and manuals, a questionnaire suitable for use as a template for creating RFIs/RFPs/RFQs, and more.
