nter in Philadelphia PA. Ms. Poon received her BA in Biology from Northwestern University, her M.S. in Biology and Biochemistry from St. Louis University, and an MBA in Finance from Boston University.

Expo Program Adds New Features

In addition to Ms. Poon's keynote address, this year's Expo provides a robust schedule of offerings covering two full days with several new program features. Additions to the program include:

-- The Michigan Emerging Life Sciences Showcase, where the best of Michigan's new and emerging life sciences companies will present before an audience of venture capitalists, angel investors and institutional investors;

-- The Life Sciences Innovation and Commercialization Caucus, a road mapping discussion of the future of the industry by legislators and life sciences leaders from across the state;

-- Medical Device Suppliers Track focusing on manufacturing companies looking to diversify or increase their business in the medical device industry, and;

-- An exclusive members-only CEO dinner where life science leaders will network with their peers and take part in a high-level discussion of leadership issues facing the industry.

Other Expo events include one-on-one Business Partnering Meetings, company tours, R&D, Emerging Business and Medical Affairs and Markets sessions and workshops, a breakfast forum, networking receptions, lunch and breaks.

More than 70% of those attending the MichBio Expo are executives in life sciences companies, research institutions and universities with another 25% representing service providers and other related industries.
