HARBIN, China, Sept. 10 /Xinhua-PR Newswire-FirstCall/ -- China Kangtai Cactus Biotech, Inc. (OTC Bulletin Board: CKGT), a vertically integrated grower, developer, manufacturer and marketer of a variety of cactus-based consumer products, announced today that the Company plans to launch a new product: Cactus Health Cigarettes.
In order to develop a niche market, to welcome the green-themed 2008 Beijing Olympiad, and in an effort to take advantage of the public's increasing health awareness stimulated by this event, the Company has successfully researched and developed a smoking product that uses cactus as its main ingredient: Cactus Health Cigarettes. The Company has applied for patent protection for the product at the China National Bureau of Intellectual Property and expects to gain approval before the end of the year. The Company believes that this product has huge market potential and that the sales of the product could have an extremely positive impact on Company's top and bottom lines. The Company has decided to launch the product in 2008.
Cactus Health Cigarettes
This product uses dried cactus palms as the main ingredient, together with dried honeysuckle, dried ginkgo leaves, and a small amount of a plant based essence, and is made through conventional cigarette production processes and technologies. This product is a new and healthy alternative to conventional cigarettes.
The harmful effects of cigarette smoking and the difficulty to quit smoking are well known. Cigarette production and consumption are especially high in China. Large numbers of people die every year due to traditional nicotine cigarette-related diseases, and many also suffer from illnesses related to second-hand smoke.
