SUNNYVALE, Calif., Feb. 11 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Cepheid (Nasdaq: CPHD) today announced that Andrew D. Miller will be joining Cepheid as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer on April 14, 2008, and will assume responsibility for worldwide financial operations and investor relations. Mr. Miller will report to John L. Bishop, Chief Executive Officer, and replaces John Sluis, who retired from Cepheid effective December 31, 2007.

Mr. Miller comes to Cepheid from Autodesk where he serves as Vice President and Chief Accounting Officer. In this role, Mr. Miller has led Autodesk's worldwide accounting, compliance, SEC reporting, and Sarbanes-Oxley 404 activities with responsibility for delivering financial services globally for this Nasdaq-listed software entity with more than $1.8B in revenues last year.
Prior to joining Autodesk, Mr. Miller was Senior Vice President and CFO for MarketFirst Software, Inc., a leading provider of enterprise marketing automation software. Other previous experience includes Vice President of Worldwide Finance for Cadence Design Systems, and Vice President of Finance and Corporate Controller for Adaptive Broadband Corporation where he was responsible for worldwide finance, accounting, and treasury functions. He also worked at Silicon Graphics, Inc., serving in a series of key senior finance, administration, and operations roles. Prior to SGI, he held various corporate and divisional finance management roles at Network Equipment Technologies.
Mr. Miller began his career as a CPA with Deloitte and Touche, serving many large technology companies. He graduated Summa Cum Laude from Santa Clara University with a Bachelors of Science in Commerce and holds a CPA from the state of California.
