Caris Life Sciences mejora la evaluación por perfil molecular con los biomarcadores ROS1 y MGMT-metilación

IRVING, Texas, 12 de noviembre de 2012 /PRNewswire/ -- Caris Life Sciences™, una compañía de biociencias líder centrada en habilitar un cuidado de la salud preciso y personalizado mediante servicios de perfil molecular y diagnóstico sanguíneo,  ha añadido ROS1 y MGMT-Metilación al servicio de evaluación por perfil molecular basado en las pruebas de la compañía. El servicio es uno de las pocas entidades que ofrecen estas pruebas de forma comercial. Estos marcadores se cree que sirven como ayudas de importancia clínica en desarrollo de los planes de tratamiento para pacientes con cáncer de pulmón de células no pequeñas (NSCLC) y glioblastoma. 

Gracias al uso de la tecnología de hibridización de fluorescencia in situ (FISH), el servicio de evaluación de tumor de Caris detecta los reagrupamientos clínicamente relevantes del gen ROS1, que se encuentra de forma predominante en pacientes jóvenes no fumadores con cáncer de pulmón. Los pacientes con estos reagrupamientos ROS1 han mostrado unas respuestas positivas cada vez mayores a crizotinib, un inhibidor oral ALK. Caris ha añadido también las pruebas del gen MGMT-metilación (MGMT-ME) para pacientes con glioblastoma usando la pirosecuencia para la detección de los niveles de metilación. La pirosecuencia demostró ser el mejor indicador de la supervivencia general y supervivencia libre de progresión en los pacientes con glioblastoma (1). Se cree que el estado MGMT-ME es un indicador útil de la respuesta del paciente al glioblastoma a la temozolomida, además de ofrecer una visión de la prognosis de ayuda.
