Campbell Alliance Launches New Practice Area Focused on Medical Affairs

RALEIGH, N.C., June 17 /PRNewswire/ -- Campbell Alliance, the leading management consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, today announced that it has launched a new practice area focused on medical affairs. As the seventh practice at Campbell Alliance, the Medical Affairs practice enables the firm to specifically target the evolving needs of this growing function.

"Our firm has done work in the area of medical affairs for a number of years, but we haven't launched a dedicated practice area focused on it until now. In recent years, the rise of specialty products has increased the profile and importance of medical affairs functions, and has created a number of needs that we are well-positioned to meet," stated John Campbell, CEO of Campbell Alliance.

The Medical Affairs practice will be led by Tim Dietlin, Vice President. Until recently, Mr. Dietlin served in a leadership position within the firm's Clinical Development practice. During his seven-year tenure at Campbell Alliance, he has led a wide range of medical affairs-related projects.

"Regulatory and drug safety requirements are raising the profile of the medical affairs function and the needs filled by professionals working in this field," said Mr. Dietlin. The Medical Affairs practice will provide consulting services in several key areas, including medical affairs strategy development at the corporate and product levels, organizational design and development, process improvement, and capability development. The practice team's work encompasses a range of medical affairs responsibilities, including the development of a medical affairs capability, medical science liaison deployment
