Campbell Alliance Adds Doug Linton, Former Cardinal Health Executive, to Executive Advisory Group
Date:4/28/2008

RALEIGH, N.C., April 28 /PRNewswire/ -- Campbell Alliance, the leading management consulting firm specializing in the pharmaceutical and biotech industry, today announced that Doug Linton has joined its Executive Advisory Group. The group is made up of industry professionals brought together by Campbell Alliance CEO John Campbell to bring special expertise to highly complex engagements. Mr. Linton will focus on distribution-related issues, working closely with Campbell Alliance's Trade and Distribution Practice.

Mr. Linton started with Cardinal Health, a global manufacturer and distributor of medical and surgical supplies and technologies, in 1981, and he has worked in the pharmaceutical distribution field for more than 20 years. At Cardinal, he played a key role developing the sophisticated investment buying program and central purchasing system that powered the firm's consolidation strategy, which transformed it from a small regional player in the early 1980s to a highly profitable national drug wholesaler by the mid- 1990s. Mr. Linton also developed and was president of several very profitable new business units for Cardinal, including National PharmPak Services, a re- packaging company, and National Specialty Services, which focused on distribution of plasma and oncology products. Mr. Linton reported to the founder and CEO of Cardinal Health during a majority of his tenure and was a member of senior management.

After leaving Cardinal in 1995, Mr. Linton worked as a senior executive with two regional drug wholesalers to develop purchasing capabilities similar to those he established at Cardinal. He then returned to Cardinal as a consultant to develop an analytical fee-for-service program for smaller manufacturers, and he directed its implementation with more than 60 manufacturers in less than twelve months. Today that program is used with close to 200 manufacturers.

After leaving Cardinal two years ago, Mr. Linton consulted to over 20
