Cambridge Semantics Hosts Webinar to Demystify the Technologies and Acronyms of the Semantic Web

Cambridge Semantics, the leading provider of Unified Information Access solutions for enterprises, has announced the second of its multi-part free online webinar series focusing on Semantic Web technologies and their uses.

The goal of this session is to decipher many of the Semantic Web acronyms, to explain the purpose and benefits of each Semantic Web technology, and to talk about the types of tools available to work with each technology. Lee Feigenbaum, vice president of marketing at Cambridge Semantics and a chair of several World Wide Web Consortium Semantic Web standards working groups, will be presenting and hosting the webinar.

Semantic Web topics that will be covered in this webinar include:

  •     RDF – the flexible graph-based data model of the Semantic Web
  •     SPARQL – a distributed query language for Semantic Web data
  •     OWL – a rich ontology language used to describe data and for reasoning on the Semantic Web
  •     R2RML – for mapping relational databases to RDF
