CUREXO Technology Corporation Launches Its ROBODOC(R) Surgical System at Upcoming Orthopaedic Conference in Las Vegas
Date:2/23/2009

SACRAMENTO, Calif., Feb. 23 /PRNewswire/ -- CUREXO Technology Corporation, pioneer in medical robotics and world leader in image-directed robotic products for orthopaedic applications, which is focused on marketing its ROBODOC(R) Surgical System, announced today that they will be exhibiting at the upcoming American Association of Orthopaedic Surgeons Annual Conference at the Sands Expo Center in Las Vegas, February 25th through the 27th, Booth #3456.

For the first time, ROBODOC(R) will display its accuracy through active demonstrations of hip and knee* replacement surgeries. In addition, Dr. William Bargar, Assistant Clinical Professor, Department of Orthopedic Surgery, University of California Davis School of Medicine will be sharing his clinical experiences using the system. The System provides consistent, reproducible outcomes, is the next generation beyond haptic systems, and has the only open platform providing surgeons with a choice of implants from the major implant manufacturers.

"I am very pleased to share my experience using ROBODOC with interested surgeons at the AAOS," stated Dr. William Bargar. "The ROBODOC system allows surgeons to be very accurate. By preoperatively planning and being able to execute what you plan, you can now address issues such as implant fit and sizing, as well as off-set and leg length which are very important in terms of how the hip functions. The system allows you to not only plan the surgery better, but more importantly, you can execute the plan with sub-millimeter accuracy," continued Dr. Bargar.

"We are looking forward to launching our robotics technology at the AAOS meeting in Las Vegas where we will present the only active robotic system cleared by the FDA for orthopaedic surgery," stated Brent D. Mittelstadt, President and CEO of CUREXO Technology Corporation. "While the System has been in use for many years having completed more than 24,000 surgeri
