CQ Forum on Biosimilar Biological Products - Wed., June 17, 2009

WASHINGTON, June 15 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- Congressional Quarterly presents a 360-degree look at the "state of play" on the approval of follow-on versions of biotech drugs. This CQ Forum will include a panel discussion with industry leaders, public interest groups, and leading researchers regarding the complex structures of biologics products vs. traditional pharmaceuticals. Are generic biologics possible? Will the availability of these products save money for consumers? What is the right length of intellectual property protection?

The event will be hosted by Congressional Quarterly and sponsored by Johnson & Johnson Pharmaceutical Services, L.L.C.

Keynote speakers include: Rep. Anna Eshoo (D-CA) and Sen. Orrin Hatch (R-UT).

Frank Sesno, professor of media and public affairs at The George Washington University and host of PBS's "Planet Forward" will moderate the panel discussion.
