Phoenix Multi-Specialty Group Practice to Connect 170 Clinicians with

Web-hosted EHR

ORLANDO, Fla., Feb. 25 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Direct from the HIMSS 2008 Conference and Exhibition, Allscripts, the leading provider of clinical software, connectivity and information solutions that physicians use to improve health care, today announced that CIGNA Medical Group (CMG) has selected Allscripts as their Electronic Health Record (EHR) provider for their primary care and specialty physicians. An EHR is a highly secure web-based software application that allows clinicians to record each and every aspect of a patient's health record in real time in an electronic format. A division of CIGNA HealthCare of Arizona, Inc., CMG is one of the largest multi-specialty group practices in metropolitan Phoenix with more than 170 clinicians in 21 offices.

The Electronic Health Record from Allscripts replaces paper recordkeeping by allowing clinicians to complete everyday clinical tasks such as prescribing medications, ordering and viewing laboratory tests, and documenting patient care in real time in an electronic format.
