CHS Receives Prestigious Honor from Department of Defense
Date:9/14/2007

One of Only 15 Companies Recognized Nationally

SCOTTSDALE, Ariz., Sept. 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- CHS, an inVentiv Health company (Nasdaq: VTIV), was recently honored by the U.S. Department of Defense as a recipient of the 2007 Secretary of Defense Employer Support Freedom Award. The award, sponsored by the National Committee of Employer Support of the National Guard and Reserve (ESGR), is the highest honor bestowed upon America's employers who provide support to their employees serving in the National Guard and Reserve. Only 15 companies nationwide were selected for the honor.

The Freedom award recognizes employers who go above and beyond the legal requirement in granting leave and providing support to employees who serve in the National Guard and Reserve. CHS was selected for the award for its support of Tom Weikert, a staff member who recently completed a 12-month tour of duty in Iraq. In addition to sending care packages, letters and emails to Weikert, CHS also showed its support by continuing his employee benefits -- including health insurance, life insurance and 401(k) plan with company matching -- and by making up the difference in his salary for the duration of his mobilization.

"This is a great honor for our organization," said Norman Stalsberg, president of CHS. "We are humbled by the recognition from ESGR and the Department of Defense and are proud to support our National Guard and Reserve. We commend Tom for his bravery and dedication, and are grateful for the opportunity to show a small fraction of our appreciation and gratitude to our armed forces."
