Boston Scientific Announces Results For Second Quarter Ended June 30, 2013

the six months ended June 30, 2012 for all or a portion of these non-GAAP adjustments.(a) - Amounts are tax effected at the Company's effective tax rate, unless the amount is a significant unusual or infrequently occurring item in accordance with FASB Accounting Standards Codification section 740-270-30, "General Methodology and Use of Estimated Annual Effective Tax Rate."(b) In the six months ended June 30, 2013, pre-tax restructuring charges were $36 million and pre-tax restructuring-related charges were $10 million recorded in selling, general and administrative expenses. (c) In the six months ended June 30, 2012, pre-tax restructuring charges were $39 million and pre-tax restructuring-related charges were $11 million, of which $6 million was recorded in cost of products sold and $5 million was recorded in selling, general and administrative expenses.  An explanation of our use of these non-GAAP financial measures is provided at the end of this document.
