es. According to a United Nation's report, as many as half the world's woody bamboos may be on their way to extinction because of current high demands - a trend Booshoot hopes to reverse. What may be most exciting about the breakthrough, though, is bamboo's ability to fight climate change like no other plant on earth. By sequestering carbon at four times the rate of a stand of trees of similar size, bamboo helps rid our atmosphere of harmful CO2 in an unprecedented way.

With growing awareness of bamboo's potential, Heinricher's work is raising interest throughout the global agriculture sector, from the U.S. and South America to Asia and Africa. Heinricher is also a founding member of Bamboo Now!, (www.bamboonow.us), a coalition of business owners, academics, climate experts, agriculture leaders, and others who recognize the need to promote the sustainable cultivation of bamboo in the United States and across the world.
