Date:1/21/2011

WASHINGTON, Jan. 21, 2011 /PRNewswire-USNewswire/ -- The Biophysical Society's 55th Annual Meeting takes place from March 5-9, 2011 at the Baltimore Convention Center in Baltimore, MD. There, more than 6,500 scientists will gather to discuss the latest advances in understanding and breakthroughs in technology at every level of biophysics -- from atoms and molecules to cells, organisms, and environments.

The Biophysical Society is the largest association in the world devoted to this multidisciplinary field, which lies at the crossroads of the physical and life sciences and is at the heart of modern biomedical research. The 55th Annual Meeting of the Biophysical Society will be the largest meeting of its type in 2011.

Journalists are invited to attend the meeting for free. Registration information appears below. Embargoed news releases in February will highlight presentations of interest to reporters.

MORE MEETING INFORMATION

Each year, the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting brings together more than 6,000 scientists and hosts more than 4,000 poster presentations, 200 exhibits, and more than 20 symposia. The largest meeting of its type in the world, the Biophysical Society Annual Meeting retains its small-meeting flavor through its subgroup meetings, platform sessions, social activities, and committee programs.
