Date:10/20/2011

INDIANAPOLIS, Oct. 20, 2011 /PRNewswire/ -- BioStorage Technologies, Inc. a global provider of comprehensive sample asset management, biomaterial storage and cold chain logistics for the bioscience industry, will host its Global Sample Management Benchmarking Symposium at the International Contract Services Expo (ICSE), on Wednesday, 26 October 2011, in Frankfurt, Germany.

The symposium will include two 1-hour presentations from industry thought leaders who will provide in-depth perspectives on new trends and strategies in the outsourcing of sample management and explain how Good Storage Practices (GSP) can help maximize research opportunities, minimize risk and reduce costs. Attendees will also learn first-hand how to achieve efficiencies and cost savings in the management of pharmacogenomic research and sample management, as well as how to navigate the regulatory environment of sample management in China.

"Today's drug development initiatives, such as biomarker discovery and personalized medicine are highly dependent on properly preserved samples, therefore it is imperative to fully explore and discuss the various aspects of comprehensive sample management," said Gregory Swanberg, Chief Executive Officer, BioStorage Technologies.  "This symposium will provide a forum for individuals who manage biorepositories to discuss global challenges, trends and the overall operations of properly collecting and managing biological samples in support of today's and tomorrow's worldwide research efforts."
