The initiative, first launched in 1993, features promotional and functional web components to work in conjunction with the economic and workforce development initiatives of the dynamic biopharmaceutical industry in Massachusetts. The much anticipated 2008 Genetown Hotbed Map, available for download at http://www.biospace.com/hotbed_map.aspx?ContentEntityID=933 , displays the logos and building pictures of participating companies. Various print collateral pieces are distributed to life science professionals at regional and international events throughout the year.
Sponsors for this year's campaign were Thermo Fisher Scientific and Wyeth Biotech. Other organizations featured on the map include Abbott, Alkermes, MGI PHARMA, i3 Research, Parexel, Merck, Millennium Pharmaceuticals and Novartis, along with over 60 other participants, research institutes, colleges and universities.
