Date:2/13/2008

SAN FRANCISCO, Feb. 13 /PRNewswire/ -- BioSpace, the world's leading online bioscience job board and life science career fair company, hosted over 1,000 biotechnology and pharmaceutical job candidates at its Biotech Bay Career Fair in Burlingame, CA on Monday February 4, 2008.

The BioSpace Career Fair drew a steady flow of qualified biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostics career candidates from around the Northern California region. For admittance to the event, all candidates had to possess a four year degree in a relevant discipline, and have worked at least two years in a bioscience-related field or industry. The event offered a variety of science jobs, pharmaceutical careers, biotech jobs, clinical research careers, and many other life science opportunities. Some of the organizations hiring qualified candidates included Abbott, Bayer Healthcare Pharmaceuticals, Exelixis, Gilead Sciences, and Poniard Pharmaceuticals.

BioSpace handled and executed all the targeted marketing for the event including pre-screening the 1,000 candidates in attendance. Clinical researchers, pharmacology professionals, biologists and many other industry professionals attended to interview with some of the top biotechnology companies and pharmaceutical firms. Companies such as Aerotek Scientific, ClinAssure, FibroGen, and XOMA were looking for candidates to continue in research and development careers, bioanalytical development careers, marketing and sales professions, quality assurance/quality control careers and many other life science positions. The exhibiting companies have access to a private, searchable BioSpace Resume Database containing the resumes of those that registered for the event.
