BioSpace Boston Career Fair Attracts over 900 Bioscience Candidates
Date:2/26/2008

MANASQUAN, N.J., Feb. 26 /PRNewswire/ -- BioSpace, the world's leading online bioscience job board community and life science career fair company, welcomed over 900 biotechnology and pharmaceutical job seekers to the Genetown Career Fair in Cambridge, Massachusetts on February 19, 2008.

Thirty-six bioscience companies exhibited at the event and all representatives were thoroughly impressed with the quality as well as the quantity of the candidates. "The Genetown Career Fair was simply fantastic. The caliber of candidates, the caliber of the companies and certainly the sheer volume of people in attendance was very impressive. Honestly, it was the best career fair I've been to in a long time," said Alysson Nolan, Strategic Staffing Manager from Vertex Pharmaceuticals, a Sponsor of the event.

John Rynak, a Corporate Recruiter for Idenix said, "Genetown job fairs are the best! Having done a number of biotech career fairs, most are a miss, but the Genetown Career Fair is a must in the Boston Area. BioSpace has a well run event, helpful staff, excellent candidates, and good back end support. Most other fairs might provide some candidates, but not a lot of hires. Genetown provides the hires that make it worth the cost."

The event was marketed and promoted specifically to life science professionals only. For candidates to gain admittance to the event, they had to possess a four year degree in a relevant discipline, and have worked at least two years in a bioscience-related field or industry. As with every Career Fair, BioSpace pre-screened all candidates, and ended up turning away 8% of registered bioscience professionals based on qualification standards.

Additionally, all exhibiting companies have access to a private, searchable BioSpace Resume Database containing the resumes of all candidates that registered for the specific event. For more on BioSpace Career Fairs see, '/>"/>
