BioSpace, BioNJ and Pennsylvania Bio Welcome Over 800 Life Science Career Candidates to Biotech 2007 Career Fair

SAN FRANCISCO, Oct. 31 /PRNewswire/ -- BioSpace, BioNJ, and Pennsylvania Bio welcomed over 800 biotech and pharmaceutical industry professionals to the Biotech 2007 Life Science Career Fair on October 9, 2007 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania.

The event, held in conjunction with the Biotech 2007 Symposium, generated over 800 highly qualified biotechnology, pharmaceutical, medical device, and diagnostics candidates which kept the companies that were recruiting very busy. This Career Fair offered a variety of biotech jobs, pharmaceutical sales careers, biology jobs, clinical research jobs, as well as many other life science careers. Some of the organizations hiring qualified candidates included Biogen Idec, the Children's Hospital of Philadelphia, GlaxoSmithKline, ICON Clinical Research, Merck Research Laboratories and Novo Nordisk Pharmaceuticals.

"Pennsylvania Bio is very pleased with the turnout and quality of candidates at the Biotech 2007 Career Fair," said Dennis "Mickey" Flynn, President of Pennsylvania Bio. "This was the third Career Fair held in conjunction with our annual event, and it was by far the most successful. BioSpace delivered an incredibly organized and valuable recruiting forum to the 43 life science companies that exhibited."

The marketing and events team at BioSpace managed the marketing and advertising as well as the logistics for the event which included pre- screening the 800 career hopefuls in attendance. The result was a very productive day for biotech employers and job candidates alike.

Biochemists, cell culture scientists, clinical researchers, oncologists, purchasing agents, pharmaceutical marketing professionals, and many others attended to interview with top life science firms. Companies such as Covance, Enzon Pharmaceuticals, Human Genome Sciences, Roche Molecular Systems, Solstice Neurosciences, Vertex Pharmaceuticals and others were hiring for pharmaceutical sales representatives, neuroscientist jobs, cell
