BioNanomatrix Named 'Best Management Team' at the 2008 Ben Franklin Emerging Business Awards
Date:4/23/2008

PHILADELPHIA, April 23 /PRNewswire/ -- BioNanomatrix, Inc. today announced that on April 22, 2008 its management team was honored at the 14th Annual Ben Franklin Emerging Business Awards, known as the "Bennies." BioNanomatrix won the Best Management Team category, competing with a strong group of growing entrepreneurial firms in the Philadelphia region. BioNanomatrix chief executive officer Dr. Michael Boyce-Jacino accepted the award on behalf of the company.

The Bennies, co-founded in 1994 by The Entrepreneurs' Forum of Greater Philadelphia and Ben Franklin Technology Partners of Southeastern Pennsylvania, was the first awards program in the region established for seed and early-stage companies. The competition promotes area companies in recognition of their breakthrough technologies, product innovations and management excellence.

"Ben Franklin Technology Partners gave us critical early support when they signed on as an early investor in BioNanomatrix, and we are delighted at this recognition of our highly motivated team," said Dr. Han Cao, BioNanomatrix founder and chief scientific officer.

"We consider being chosen for this award from among all the promising early stage life sciences companies in the greater Philadelphia region, along with our recent success in closing our series A financing, as a strong vote of confidence in the company," added Dr. Boyce-Jacino.

BioNanomatrix is developing breakthrough nanoscale whole genome imaging and analytic platforms for genetic diagnostics, personalized medicine and biomedical research.
