BioInformatics, LLC Deploys RateMyProduct™ to Rate Benchtop Real-time PCR Machines

Arlington, VA (PRWEB) August 06, 2013

BioInformatics LLC has created a lot of buzz around RateMyProduct™, and product and marketing managers throughout the industry are responding to the concept with enthusiasm. This self-serve, automated tool was designed specifically for life science suppliers so that they could quickly test a product’s multiple market attributes at any stage of a product’s life cycle—at a nominal cost.

In one recent RateMyProduct report, Real-Time PCR Instrumentation: Taking a Look Using the RateMyProduct Automated Product Assessment Tool, BioInformatics LLC measured the performance and value of several low throughput, bench top real-time PCR machines. This research quickly identified market leaders and followers and how the winners were earning and leveraging their position in the market.

Using as source material the marketing collateral provided by each supplier—Applied Biosystems, Thermo Scientific, Bio-Rad, Illumina, Qiagen, and Roche—a RateMyProduct form was created for each instrument. One hundred unique respondents evaluated each instrument and the results were analyzed using the RateMyProduct algorithm.

In the hands of a marketing manager—experienced or novice—this information could be used to validate existing market knowledge and/or shed light on how a product is perceived compared to its competitors’.

RateMyProduct is an automated product assessment tool that captures product performance data to get a read on the market’s reaction to messaging, pricing and product features thought to be most important. In addition, RateMyProduct reports include benchmarking data so that product and marketing managers can assess how their product stands up to those of other life science supplier companies.

100 prospective customers rate the product on seven key predictors of market success:

  •          Market Receptivity
  •          Product Utility
  •          Innovation
  •          Marketing Effectiveness
  •          Pricing Effectiveness
  •          Purchase Criteria
  •          Differentiation
