Bayer and Onyx Announce Nexavar Data Presentations at 45th American Society of Clinical Oncology Annual Meeting

WAYNE, N.J. and EMERYVILLE, Calif., May 14 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Bayer HealthCare Pharmaceuticals, Inc. and Onyx Pharmaceuticals, Inc. (Nasdaq: ONXX) today announced that more than 65 studies evaluating the use of Nexavar(R) (sorafenib) tablets will be presented at the 2009 American Society of Clinical Oncology (ASCO) annual meeting.
"Nexavar has a proven track record in two cancers - in the treatment of unresectable hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC), or liver cancer, and in the treatment of advanced renal cell carcinoma (RCC), or kidney cancer," said Laura Brege, executive vice president and chief operating officer at Onyx Pharmaceuticals. "We continue to explore the potential of Nexavar in other tumor types with several studies being presented at ASCO."
