Bayer CropScience Bee Care Tour Stops in Iowa
Date:3/28/2013

ps have included Commodity Classic in Orlando and The Ohio State University in Wooster. Upcoming stops include the University of Illinois in Urbana, The University of Nebraska in Lincoln and University of Minnesota in Minneapolis.

The Tour is part of Bayer’s overall Bee Care Program and commitment to honey bee health. The Program, which includes initiatives such as Bayer’s global Bee Care Centers and honey bee research, brings Bayer’s extensive experience and knowledge in honey bee health under one platform. A Bee Care Center is currently under construction at the North American Bayer CropScience Headquarters at Research Triangle Park, N.C. which will aid the advancement of honey bee research by providing a state-of-the-art research and meeting facility. Additionally, the Program includes Bayer’s Bee Ambassador campaign, a field staff training initiative dedicated to cultivating dialogue and awareness around topics related to honey bee management and health.

"Bayer recognizes the important role of bees in our backyards, our communities, our crop fields and our world,” said Robyn Kneen, Bayer CropScience North America Bee Health project manager. “Through the Tour, we hope to help increase the public’s awareness of the critical need for pollinators to help maintain the world’s food supply.”

Bayer is committed to environmental stewardship and sustainable agricultural practices, including the protection of beneficial insects such as honey bees. For additional information and background on other sustainability initiatives please visit http://www.bayercropscience
