Bayer CropScience Announces LibertyLink LinkUp Offer Increased for 2013 Season

Research Triangle Park, NC (PRWEB) December 03, 2012

Bayer CropScience announces the 2013 LibertyLink® LinkUp™ Offer, an important part of the Innovation Plus™ program. Growers who plant at least 150 acres* of LibertyLink soybeans, F iberMax® or Stoneville® LibertyLink cottonseed varieties, and/or InVigor® LibertyLink canola will be eligible for the following cash equivalent rebate:

  •     FiberMax and Stoneville LibertyLink cottonseed / $30 per unit
  •     LibertyLink soybean seed / $5 per unit
  •     InVigor LibertyLink canola seed / $30 per unit

“We are committed to providing valuable tools to growers that enhance their bottom line. This is a great time to try the most reliable weed managament solution available,” said Arlene Cotie, product manager for the LibertyLink trait. “High-yielding LibertyLink varieties and hybrids paired with Liberty herbicide provide a proven resistance management tool that fits any management plan.”

This program ensures that LibertyLink soybeans, FiberMax or Stoneville LibertyLink cottonseed varieties, or InVigor LibertyLink canola remain a viable and competitive alternative to other herbicide-tolerant technologies in the marketplace, according to Cotie.

LibertyLink System Shows Increased Value
Grower demand for the LibertyLink system has increased significantly in recent years and is expected to continue in 2013. As a result, Bayer CropScience has taken steps to help meet this growing need.

“Bayer CropScience encourages growers to work with their retailer to forecast Liberty herbicide needs when they book their LibertyLink soybeans, cotton or canola,” said Eric Peters, product manager for Liberty® herbicide. “This will help to better align distribution of Liberty herbicide to growers who have purchased LibertyLink crops.”

“A hotline has also been established at 1-800-432-9316 if growers would like to enter and/or confirm their Liberty herbicide forecast,” said Peters. Bayer CropScience encourages growers to focus their use of Liberty on LibertyLink crops to help ensure availability.

Seed orders for the 2013 growing season placed between Sept. 1, 2012, and Feb. 1, 2013, as well as previous purchases for the 2013 season, qualify for the incentive. For more information on the LinkUp Program, growers can contact their preferred seed seller or supplier. Additional program details are at

*Based on seeding rates of 1 acre/unit of soybean seed, 5 acres/unit of cottonseed and 10 acres/unit canola seed.
