Arsenal Capital Partners verwerft Certara, leider in geneesmiddelontwikkeling op basis van modellen

Dr. James Rothman, in 2013 winnaar van de Nobelprijs voor fysiologie of geneeskunde, die in zijn rol bij de Healthcare Group van Arsenal Capital Partners de acquisitie van Certara heeft geëvalueerd, zei dat Arsenal geïnteresseerd raakte in de acquisitie vanwege de mogelijkheid van Certara om zowel de effectiviteit als de efficiëntie van het proces voor de geneesmiddelontwikkeling te vergroten. "Met de geneesmiddelontwikkeling op basis van modellen kunnen farmaceutische en biotechnologische bedrijven een meer rigoureuze, kwantitatieve benadering van de geneesmiddelontwikkeling toepassen. Daardoor kunnen beter geïnformeerde beslissingen worden genomen over de kandidaatmiddelen waarmee verder wordt gegaan en over het optimaliseren van klinische onderzoeksontwerpen, hetgeen beter is voor de bedrijfstak en uiteindelijk voor de patiënten," aldus Dr. Rothman, die lid zal worden van de raad van bestuur van Certara.
