An Educational Program: Discriminating Real Science from Faux Science
NORTH KINGSTOWN, R.I., Dec. 27 /PRNewswire/ -- At a recent meeting of the Arizona Pain Society, Dominion Diagnostics sponsored an extensive educational program entitled "A Comprehensive Review of Urine Drug Testing: Which Test, Which Patient and Discriminating Real Science from Faux Science," presented by Dr. Robert Barkin, Pharm.D, MBA, FCP, DAAPM. Dr. Barkin is an Associate Professor, Faculty of Anesthesiology, Family Medicine, and Pharmacology, at Rush University Medical Center in Chicago, Illinois, as well as a Pharmacotherapy Consultant at the Rush Pain Center, Chicago, Illinois, and the North Shore Pain Center at Rush North Shore Hospital in Skokie, Illinois.
Dr. Barkin's instructional program on comprehensive urine drug testing followed an introductory segment on the current "Legal Issues of Pain Management" given by Mark A. McSally Esq.
Additionally, Stephen Borowsky, MD, Arizona Pain Society President, presented recent updates on the status of Prescription Drug Monitoring in Arizona. Dr. Borowsky serves on the Arizona Board of Pharmacy Task Force for Electronic Prescription Monitoring.
