Alpha Source, Inc. Donates $1,000 to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation
Date:12/20/2012

Milwaukee, Wisc. (PRWEB) December 20, 2012

Alpha Source, Inc., a multi-vendor medical equipment parts distributor and battery pack manufacturer, donates $1,000 to the Marine Toys for Tots Foundation—a foundation focused on delivering gifts to America’s needy children. The donation is the local component of Alpha Source’s 2012 Holiday giving efforts. Earlier, Alpha Source and its employees donated 100 gift-filled shoeboxes to Samaritan’s Purse’s Operation Christmas Child—an international organization that delivers gifts to children around the world. For every box donated to Operation Christmas Child, Alpha Source also donated $10 per box to Toys for Tots. Alpha Source’s donation of new toys was dropped off at the U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Center of Milwaukee, Wisc.

In November, Alpha Source and Alpha Source employees set a goal of sending 100 gift-filled shoeboxes to Operation Christmas Child. Through donations from Alpha Source, Alpha Source employees and local businesses, they met their goal. As an added bonus, for every gift-filled box sent to Operation Christmas Child, Alpha Source donated $10 per box to Toys for Tots. The result was a $1,000 donation towards new toys for Toys for Tots of Milwaukee.

“Any time we can incorporate a local component to our community service efforts, we are glad to do it. Working with organizations like Toys for Tots is a great way to get our company and our employees involved with giving back,” said Norine Carlson-Weber, president of Alpha Source.

One-thousand dollars’ worth of new toys for boys and girls, including board games, dolls, balls, books, crafts, action figures, toy cars, and others, were donated.

The U.S. Marine Corps Reserve Toys for Tots Foundation is dedicated to bringing the joy of Christmas to America’s needy children. Toys for Tots began in 1947, and since it began, the foundation has delivered 332.5 million toys to 158.7 million needy children.
