Kuantan, Malaysia facility awarded ISO13485 medical manufacturing certification.

Weybridge, United Kingdom (PRWEB) January 21, 2010 -- TT electronics integrated manufacturing services, an award-winning EMS provider, announced today that its manufacturing facility in Kuantan, Malaysia has received ISO 13485:2003 medical certification. The award marks a monumental industry achievement as TT electronics integrated manufacturing services becomes one of the first EMS companies to boast all of its worldwide facilities as being "ISO 13485:2003 compliant".

The TT electronics sites in Suzhou, China, Rogerstone, United Kingdom and Perry, USA already hold this approval.

John Molloy, Divisional Chief Executive for TT electronics integrated manufacturing services stated, "This certification demonstrates our long term commitment to the global medical device market. It also builds on our comprehensive library of accreditations to reassure our customers that we have the lost-cost, quality systems in place to strictly control the manufacturing process and the traceability of materials used in medical products."

ISO 13485 is the international quality management standard for designers and manufacturers of medical devices. It is currently recognised in most major markets worldwide and is a prerequisite for companies producing medical and biomedical products.

"Our ISO 13485 certification demonstrates that we have the processes in place to produce safe and effective medical devices," added Derek Mansfield, Managing Director at TT electronics' Kuantan, Malaysia facility. "Our commitment to quality standards and to achieving operational excellence across the business ultimately enhances the profitability and competitiveness of our customers' products by taking out cost, improving manufacturability and speeding time to market.
